My name is Taine I am a Senior Support Technician here at ORCA Service Technologies. In my role I look after the support team, ensuring we deliver quality services to our fast-growing customer base. I am looking for an IT support apprentice - Level 3 to join our high performing team.

We are a software development firm located in Maidenhead, UK. Our mission is to revolutionise facility service with intuitive, data-driven software, that delivers lasting value.


Our team started by developing bespoke software a Facility Service organisation focussed on commercial kitchen maintenance. We created custom android and windows apps for them. We now deliver cloud-based software internationally for a growing customer base. We work a range of web-technologies: C#, SQL, Azure, JS, HTML, CSS.


About the Role


We are looking for an apprentice to join our support team: someone who knows their way around a computer and is not afraid to work hard to learn quickly on the job. The job role is varied, ranging from software support, training, networking, Microsoft 365, windows server admin, hardware setup and much more.


You will be joining a dynamic team with ranging sets of experience levels: from junior interns to seasoned professionals with more than 20 years experience. If you are a team player, have basic IT knowledge, like a high paced working environment and are looking for an opportunity to learn more about information technology then this is the opportunity for you. 


As an IT apprentice at OST, you will be challenged with a diverse set of responsibilities including IT support and understanding user’s issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for IT support activities (categorising, prioritising, and solving tickets)
  • Support senior and junior developers on ground-breaking projects and cutting-edge development activities
  • Working closely with customers to scope incoming project requests
  • Understand OST’s organisational systems to develop and support customers
  • Responsible for customer contact and project ownership around your development works


Requirements

  • Have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Have a basic understanding and passion for IT
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Preferred: IT hardware skills
  • Preferred: Software development skills (programming)
  • Preferred: Prior education and/or working experience in IT
  • Preferred: Good communication skills through a variety of methods
